NDTV India, which was launched in the year 2003, largely concentrates in collecting the most lively and realistic news in India that projects the central concept of the channel- `Khabar wahi jo Sach Dikhe.` As such the channel has divided its sets of information among its leading news programmes. The channel includes popular programmes like Khabar India, International Agenda, Namaste India, Aaj Ki Tazaa Khabar, India Abhi, Khel India, Gustaki Maaf, Prime Time, Mumbai Centre, Best of RK, Fit Rahe India, News centre and the hourly News. Along with the regular programmes of the channel there are some major programmes of NDTV India which include Khabardar, Muquabla, Hum Log, Ravivaar, and Salaam Zindagi. Overall the programmes of NDTV India have made all efforts to touch every corner of Indian lifestyle which highlight the headlines of India.

NDTV India as a major news channel of India faced a lot of competition from other leading channels particularly from Star News. According to available information NDTV India, however, can be fortified as the second slot behind Aaj Tak. But slowly and steadily NDTV India did give Aaj tak a run for its money. In the year 2004 NDTV India`s reach was 58.8 per cent as compared to Aaj Tak`s 62.1 per cent. Along with other Hindi news channels NDTV India too made a remarkable progress during the period of 21st March to 10th April 2004.

Initially supported by the anchors like Vinod Dua the channel includes most eminent news editors, managing editors and its CEO Sameer Kapoor. Among them noteworthy are Aunindyo Chakraborty, Managing editor NDTV India; Pankaj Pachauri, Managing Editor-Special Projects and Prime Time Anchor; Sanjay Ahirwal, Executive Editor NDTV India, Executive Editor NDTV India; Associate Editor and a Senior Anchor; Associate Editor and Senior Anchor with NDTV India.

Thus as a major Hindi news channel of India, NDTV India has been able reach the Indian population.
